* Chester Cathedral has a strict safeguarding and entry policy for visiting ringers. For any one wishing to ring at Chester Cathedral, we have to give a list of names 10 days before (deadline : 8th October). Furthermore EVERYONE needs to have completed the Church of England online safeguarding training. You don't need to send your certificate but we are simply drawing your attention to the fact that it is a requirement of Chester Cathedral. Most of you have probably completed the training in your local Church. Here is the link if you haven't completed the safeguarding training.

https://safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org/

Please let the secretary know if you are coming to Chester by 8th October and confirm you have completed the online training. Also please pass this email on to those who you know who aren't on the email group/email me on their behalf. Any names not on the list will unfortunately mean you will NOT be able to enter the tower or ring at the Cathedral.

Parking and Other Information

Chester Cathedral
There is no parking at the cathedral. The local ringers recommend we use Linenhall car park, Nicholas Street, CH1 2NX, and walk 7 to 10 mins to the cathedral. Alternatively, park at St Mary’s Handbridge, which will be the 2nd tower of the day, and walk the 10 to 15 mins to the cathedral. I have allowed time in the itinerary to walk between the two churches.

St Mary without the Walls
Overleigh Road, Handbridge, CH4 7HL. On street parking on Overleigh Road (but not immediately next to the church which is limited to 30mins only). There is a car park behind the church, and I’ll check that it’s available for us to use it that morning.

Lunch in Handbridge. Handbridge has no less than 3 pubs: The Handbridge (next door to the church), The Red Lion and The Ship Inn. I will contact The Handbridge and ask if we can book a table there for us all.

Eccleston
Church Road, Eccleston, CH4 9HT. On street parking next to the church, or if you go past the church and turn left we have permission to park by the Old Coach House which is empty at the moment.

Dodleston
Church Croft, Dodleston, CH4 9NT. The church car park is on the corner of Pulford Land and Church Croft.

Gresford
The Green, Gresford, Wrexham, LL12 8RG. There is a car park on School Lane (School Lane is one way; enter from Clappers Lane). Otherwise, park on north and south sides of church by wall. Carolina Goodship
